Matting Base is a special dispersion which can be mixed with Clearclad cathodi c systems in order to reduce gloss and reflectivity. In addition to its gloss reducing properties it also imparts a small degree of opacity to the finish. This effect is pro rata to its addition rate is more apparent in transparent systems.
